The show’s being brought around by Art Without Walls, a pretty spectacular organization putting up great public art all over town. Other AWW shows coinciding with ours are a Chris Doyle public projection piece and EV Day’s Diva’s Ascending. Gravity Was Everywhere Back Then opens on May 13th

FilmFest Basel (Brent’s going to this one, too!!) May 26-June 1 I like their program notes- Gravity is described as “Frank Capra without a happy ending.” Hell yeah.

While we’re in Basel screening Gravity, Brent, Howe Gelb, Jim White (of the Dirty Three) and Donna K are going to perform a couple shows- one at the Kunsthalle Basel on May 30- called A Head Full of Dying Crows- performing live soundtracks to Brent’s short films. And the other at El Lokal in Zurich on May 31, which is more of a Howe Gelb solo show- but with Jim and Brent doing some talking and singing, too.

That takes us to the end of May. June’s crazy, too. Live shows in Memphis and Louisville. Screenings in Croatia and Germany. Much much more.

We’re bringing Gravity to Chicago with a seven piece band as part of the CIMM Festival. We go on at 10:30PM, Saturday, April 16th at the Wicker Park Art Center, 2215 West North Avenue
It’s gonna be a rad show- the Bitter Tears are doing their horn section thing, Jim White (of the Dirty Three) is drumming. Drew Henkels, John Swartz, Donna K and I- it’ll be great. Sam Green’s doing his Utopia in Four Movements show at 8PM at the same venue. It’s a rad double bill.

So, it’s not like I post every review or anything, but this one, by Genevieve Yue, was just put up by Killing the Buddha. It is a wonderful description of the film from a religious-struggle standpoint. It’s beautiful. Thank you, Genevieve.
